TAB New Zealand, paid tribute to Andy Kydd, former General Manager Media and International, who passed away today after a long battle with illness.
Jessica Meech, General Manager Corporate & Governance Services said Andy was a much loved member of the TAB family and would be sorely missed.
"Andy was a gifted leader; a man with superb intellect, sound judgement and quick wit. He was brave, resilient and a feared negotiator. Since joining the TAB in 2016 as a General Manager, Andy made an immeasurable contribution to the TAB’s success, not only in the media, broadcasting and international relationships space, but all across the business through his extensive wagering and racing industry knowledge."
Prior to his time with TAB, Andy had built a very successful career in Australia, holding senior positions at Racing Victoria, William Hill and Tom Waterhouse.
"Andy loved racing, and the industry both here and in Australia, have benefited greatly from his extensive service", said Ms Meech. "Andy was a friend, a confidant and an inspiration to many. We were all so lucky to have had him play a part in our lives and feel nothing short of broken by his untimely passing."
